Items We Can't Haul
And What to Do Instead

Almost everything is fair game. This is the short list of items that need specialized disposal — and what to do with each one.

The vast majority of what you have, we take. Furniture, appliances, mattresses, exercise equipment, construction debris, yard debris, hot tubs, pianos — if it's not on this list, we haul it. See everything we take.

Restricted Items

Wet or liquid paint

Flammable and regulated for disposal. Small amounts of dried paint in sealed cans are fine.

What to do instead: Most counties have a hazardous waste collection day. Check Gwinnett, Hall, or Forsyth County's waste calendar.

Motor oil, gasoline, and automotive fluids

Require licensed hazmat disposal. We can take the container once it's empty and dry.

What to do instead: AutoZone, O'Reilly, and Advance Auto parts locations in the area accept used motor oil.

Propane tanks (when full or partially full)

Full or partial tanks are a fire risk in the truck. Empty tanks with the valve removed are fine.

What to do instead: Blue Rhino and AmeriGas exchange tanks at most grocery and hardware stores. Empty tanks we can take.

Asbestos and materials with asbestos

Requires specialized abatement. Common in homes built before 1980: floor tiles, pipe insulation, popcorn ceilings.

What to do instead: A licensed asbestos abatement contractor must remove and certify the material first. Once cleared, we handle the rest.

Medical and biohazard waste

Sharps, medications, bandages, and medical equipment require licensed medical waste disposal.

What to do instead: Many pharmacies accept unused medications. Hall County and surrounding areas have sharps disposal programs.

Chemicals, solvents, and pesticides

Pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, and industrial solvents need hazmat handling.

What to do instead: Gwinnett County, Hall County, and Forsyth County each offer hazardous waste collection events through their solid waste programs.

Tires (call first)

Many facilities won't accept tires. We can handle small quantities — call before scheduling.

What to do instead: Most tire shops accept a few tires at a time for a small fee.
